# How do I connect TradeStation to Claude?

TradeStation's [MCP product page](https://www.tradestation.com/platforms-and-tools/mcp/), in structured data checked on 2026-10-20, says Claude Pro or ChatGPT Plus and a minimum eligible account balance of $10,000. The [homepage](https://www.tradestation.com/) the same day says there is no account minimum. That conflict is still open. Request MCP in HUB on the Platforms page, then connect it in Claude.

## What Claude plan does TradeStation MCP require?

Structured data on the [product page](https://www.tradestation.com/platforms-and-tools/mcp/) says a Claude Pro or ChatGPT Plus subscription, and TradeStation does not bill for the connector. Visible text on that page says clients who use Claude or ChatGPT. The [January 13, 2026 press release](https://www.tradestation.com/press-and-news/tradestation-securities-releases-mcp-connection-allowing-users-to-connect-trading-accounts-with-third-party-ai-platforms/) and the [February 17 article](https://www.tradestation.com/insights/2026/02/17/mcp-ai-brokerage-accounts/) say Claude Pro. The [July 16 article](https://www.tradestation.com/insights/2026/07/16/mcp-chatgpt/) lists ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Edu.

## Is there an account minimum for TradeStation MCP?

Structured data on the [product page](https://www.tradestation.com/platforms-and-tools/mcp/) says a minimum eligible account balance of $10,000. The visible text has no dollar figure. The [homepage](https://www.tradestation.com/) says "MCP now available without account minimum" and "No account minimum required." The [January press release](https://www.tradestation.com/press-and-news/tradestation-securities-releases-mcp-connection-allowing-users-to-connect-trading-accounts-with-third-party-ai-platforms/) says applicable account minimums, with no dollar figure. [February](https://www.tradestation.com/insights/2026/02/17/mcp-ai-brokerage-accounts/) and [July](https://www.tradestation.com/insights/2026/07/16/mcp-chatgpt/) say a funded, qualifying account. Both claims still conflict.

Checked on 2026-10-20. The $10,000 figure is in the product-page structured data. It is not in the visible product text, the homepage, the January press release, or the July article. The February article uses $10,000 once, in an example prompt, "Create a limit order to buy $10,000 of $BAC." That line is not an account minimum.

## How do I turn the TradeStation connector on in Claude?

Sign in at TradeStation.com so HUB opens, then open Platforms. The [February 17 article](https://www.tradestation.com/insights/2026/02/17/mcp-ai-brokerage-accounts/) says MCP shows for a qualifying account, and Get Started begins the request. In Claude it says: new chat, the plus button, Add Connectors, Manage Connectors, then Connect. If TradeStation is absent, [Anthropic's help article](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11175166-get-started-with-custom-connectors-using-remote-mcp) says Customize, Connectors, Add custom connector, then the server URL.

The [February 17, 2026 article](https://www.tradestation.com/insights/2026/02/17/mcp-ai-brokerage-accounts/) gives these steps for Claude Pro:

1. Sign in at the top right of TradeStation.com. HUB opens.
2. Open Platforms. The article says Platform button. The product page says Platforms page. MCP shows for a qualifying account. Click Get Started.
3. In Claude, open a new chat.
4. Click the plus button on the left of the input.
5. Choose Add Connectors, then Manage Connectors.
6. If TradeStation is not in the list, click Browse connectors.
7. Click Connect. The login box asks for the TradeStation username and password.

The [July 16, 2026 article](https://www.tradestation.com/insights/2026/07/16/mcp-chatgpt/) prints the server URL https://mcp.tradestation.com/v2/mcp. The February article does not. [Anthropic's help article](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11175166-get-started-with-custom-connectors-using-remote-mcp), checked on 2026-10-20, says custom connectors are on Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. Free is limited to one custom connector. On Pro and Max, the add path is Customize, then Connectors, then Add, then Add custom connector, then a name and the remote URL. The plus button on that page turns a connector on or off for one chat. It is not the add path.

## Does TradeStation MCP ask before it places an order?

The [product page](https://www.tradestation.com/platforms-and-tools/mcp/) requires explicit confirmations before orders are placed. The [February 17 article](https://www.tradestation.com/insights/2026/02/17/mcp-ai-brokerage-accounts/) says the first use of each tool asks, and you can allow it once or always. [Anthropic](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11175166-get-started-with-custom-connectors-using-remote-mcp) says click Allow always only for a tool you trust to run unsupervised, and that research can call connector tools without another approval.

Visible text on the [product page](https://www.tradestation.com/platforms-and-tools/mcp/) says "TradeStation MCP requires explicit confirmations before orders are placed, and all actions remain subject to your existing trading permissions and risk controls." The structured-data feature list on that page, lastReviewed 2026-07-16, includes "Preview orders using natural language" and "Explicit confirmation safeguards before orders are placed." The [February 17 article](https://www.tradestation.com/insights/2026/02/17/mcp-ai-brokerage-accounts/) says "Users are prompted the first time each tool is used. They can grant access once or always." [Anthropic](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11175166-get-started-with-custom-connectors-using-remote-mcp) says only click "Allow always" for a tool you trust to run unsupervised, and that during research Claude can invoke connector tools automatically without further approval.

## How do I run the first TradeStation session on sim?

None of the TradeStation MCP pages checked on 2026-10-20 name a simulator switch. The [expert pack](/guides/ai-agents-for-tradestation) says to set the trading environment to sim and read it back before an account call, and to pass SIM on place-order. Use the prompt on this page. It tells the agent to confirm sim, preview each order, and stop and ask before confirm.

Paste this into Claude for the first paper or sim session:

```
This session is paper or sim only.
Before any account call, run set-trading-environment with sim and read it back.
Confirm you are on sim before any order.
If the read-back is not sim, stop and ask me. Do not continue.
On place-order, set environment to SIM.
For each order, preview the order. Show the symbol, side, quantity, order type, price, and time in force.
Stop and ask me before any confirm. Do not confirm.
Do not state a profit, a return, or a win rate.
Paper first. Not financial advice.
```

The [expert pack](/guides/ai-agents-for-tradestation) says to run set-trading-environment with sim, read it back, and pass SIM on place-order. Run [validate_order.py](/packs/tradestation/validate_order.py) against [rules.json](/packs/tradestation/rules.json) before every confirm. [Guardrails](/guides/ai-agent-trading-guardrails) is the reject list. [Broker connectors](/guides/broker-ai-connectors) lists this MCP with the other firms. The [Desk Kit](/desk-kit) checks limits in a file the agent cannot write.
