Sample Desk Review

A public sample of the written review. The desk in it is not a customer.

Example data. Not a trade and not a result. Automated trading can lose money; start on paper and set hard limits. Not financial advice.

EXAMPLE DATA. This is not a review of a customer. There is no name, no account, no positions, and no P&L. The desk below is a teaching example so you can see the rubric and the shape of the written report.

A real review is the desk you send, scored on this rubric, back within 5 business days of the files arriving. Process and controls only. We do not take broker logins, API keys, or account access.

Educational only. Not financial advice. Automated trading can lose money; start on paper and set hard limits.

What was sent (example)

Rubric

Each row is 0, 1, or 2. A 2 means a stranger could run the check from the file. A 1 means the piece exists and a hole is named. A 0 means it is missing or it contradicts itself.

AreaWhat a 2 looks likeExample score
SeatsOne job, one output, a never-do, each in its own chat1
HandoffThe next seat can use the file without asking1
Risk gateCLEAR or SEND-BACK, limits the agent cannot edit1
Live pathPaper first, preflight, risk gate, hard limits, kill rules, and LIVE_TRADING off until you arm it0
RecordsA journal and a scorecard, including on a no-trade day1

Total: 4 out of 10.

0 to 4 is not a desk yet. 5 to 7 can run on paper once the named gaps are closed. 8 to 10 can run on paper as written. None of these scores is a comment on trading results. This example does not include a call.

Findings

  1. Research and Risk share a chat. The seat that writes the thesis should not be the seat that vetos it. Split them.
  2. limits.md has no LIVE_TRADING line. The trader seat must treat a missing line as off, and the file should say LIVE_TRADING: off so the checker can see it. The operator writes that line. The agent does not.
  3. The max-loss lines are still words. Until they are numbers the operator chose, Risk should SEND-BACK. That part is fail-closed, and it is correct.
  4. The kill switch is a sentence. It has not been tested. The live path scores 0 until a test is written down: what was halted, and when.
  5. The journal has no-trade tickets, which is what a quiet week should look like. Scorecards exist for one seat. The other staffed seats need a line, even if the line is "no file."
  6. No broker pack is loaded. That is fine while nothing is sent. Before any ticket draft names a host, load the free pack for that broker. Do not paste a key into the review.

What we would not say

We would not tell this operator what to buy or sell. We would not estimate a result. We would not ask for an account number. The next step in this example is paper only: split the chats, write the flag, and file a scorecard line per seat for five sessions.
